thoughts in absence

thoughts in absence

6’ | voice and oboe

thoughts in absence features a drunk singer reciting roma ntic clichés and a lot of displaced quotations, feeling sorry for his solitude. He drifts from language to language, feeling displaced in every one of them, as he feels displaced in his own being and situation. The oboe offers its commentary, sometimes completing his harmonies, sometimes disagreeing.

(Jorne van Bergeijk – voice, Jan-Jakob Mooij – oboe)
